Obituary

Caryl Annette (Lux) Story, 75, went home to God on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A long-time Pasco resident, she moved to Kennewick in 2013 to be closer to her children. Caryl was born to Albert and Clara Gertrude (Johnson) Lux on March 18, 1942 in Luverne, Minnesota, and the family moved to Pasco when she was a young girl. In 1962, she married Joel G. Story and spent many years at home raising her children before going back to work full-time in banking. She retired in 2007. A lifelong Christian, Caryl was always involved in her church, devoting more time after retirement. In recent years, she was active in her weekly bible study group and her church Benevolence Fund committee. She was blessed with many friends, who she enjoyed spending time with each week. Her whole life centered around her faith, family, and friends. Caryl will be remembered for her homemade cookie and candies at Christmas; her crafting, including hand-crafted cards for birthdays and special occasions; her love of Elvis; and her generous spirit and thoughtfulness. Caryl is survived by her children, April Joelene Herron (Dennis) of Pasco, and children, Chad (Trish) and Kelly (Casey); Joel G. Story, Jr. (Betty) of Kennewick, and children Joshua, Lucas, Amy, D.J., and Brian; Tamme Ward (Bob) of Kennewick, and children Matt and Shane; Tim Story (Becca) of Kennewick, and children T.J. (Patricia) and Gabby; Todd Story of Kennewick, and daughter Jessica; Tonya Stevenson (Rob) of Kailua, HI and daughter, Sydney; sister, Sr. M. Clare Anne, M.C. (Cathy); 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
