Obituary

Bonnie McReynolds Olson, 81, died on March 17th in Richland, Washington. She was born on June 6, 1926 in Utica, Montana. She attended schools in Kennewick and was a proud member of the KHS class of 1944. Bonnie then went on to continue her education at the University of Idaho and later at Columbia Basin College where she completed the Nursing program. As a Registered Nurse, Bonnie found great joy and fulfillment working with OB/GYN patients for over 20 years. Bonnie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kennewick. She was also a Master Gardener and enjoyed painting, playing cards and working crossword puzzles in her free time. Bonnie also loved to play golf and on the Salmon Arm Golf Course in Canada, she made her first Hole-in-One! Bonnie married the love of her life, Rod Olson, on June 29, 1947. They enjoyed 42 beautiful years of marriage together. Their trips included traveling with the Roaming Elks, vacationing in Tahiti, Istanbul, and Cancun, along with several years of being snowbirds in Desert Hot Springs, California. Bonnie is survived by her three children: her two daughters, Kitty and husband Howard Baird and Jennifer Olson and friend Dave Schwarder; her son Gary Olson and wife Caprice Consalvo-Olson; granddaughters Christina Baird-Smith and husband Andre Smith, Rebecca Baird, Candace and husband Nic Croft; grandson Blake Mathews; great granddaughter Olivia Kate Baird-Smith; and sister Judy and husband Richard Tomera. She was preceded in death by her parents Ree and Lollie McReynolds; sister Marjorie Mitchell and her husband and soulmate Rod Olson. In honoring Bonnie's wishes, a family graveside service, along with family friends, will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 1:00pm, at Riverview Heights Cemetery, at 10th and Olympia Street in Kennewick.
