Bobbie L. Richard Gillespie 1/16/1933-5/12/2010 Born in Drift, Kentucky, his family moved to Stockbridge, Michigan where he worked for the railroad and the Chelsea Spring Plant in his younger years. In a small dance hall in December 1952, he met the love of his life Mina Cross. After a short courtship they married July 11, 1953 and started a family in Jackson, Michigan. Due to work conditions the family moved to Washington State. They lived first in Wenatchee, onto Ephrata, and then Spokane before settling in Walla Walla for 15 years. Bobbie was an iron worker at Local 14 for 40 years. In 1978 the family moved to Kennewick, Washington after he was working at Hanford for 3 years, were he became manager at the 6290 Building for Crane and Rigging. He received an award for an invention of a retrieval system that saved the company a lot of time and money at Tank Farms. Bobbie was a family man along with being a part time minister for the Church of Christ. After retiring in 1995, he still enjoyed his own business ?Bob?s Tree Service.? Bobbie left behind a loving wife, Mina Gillespie; and children Rodney Robin Gillespie of Kennewick, Randy Gillespie of California, Mark Gillespie of Kennewick, Tina Bob Edwards of Kennewick, and Jeremy Cheryl Gillespie of Kennewick. Along with grandchildren: Brittany, Derrick, Mikaela, Draden, Darshanna, Sherree, Jason, Destiny, Christa, Dannielle, Courtney, Devon, Shane, and Shania, there are many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild which will miss their papaw tremendously. There will be a viewing from 3-8 pm on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. Funeral services will be at 3 pm on Tuesday, May 18th at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home. The Graveside will follow the services at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
