Obituary

Bob Marion Hayes, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2017 at Denver Care Center North in Denver, Colorado. Bob was born on October 8, 1924 in Scranton, IA. The last of three children, Bob is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Cecile Hayes, and sisters Lois McKinney and Lucille Sloth. Bob served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II, he was Sergeant for the 505th Military Police Battalion. Bob was enthusiastic about sports, cars and auto racing; he enjoyed NASCAR, especially the late Dale Earnhardt and his cherished Oakland Raiders. His passion for cars led to his 35-year career with Volkswagen. Bob was good-hearted and made many lasting friendships. Bob loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed seeing them as often as possible. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rowena Hayes; son Delbert Bunch; daughter Judy Walker; and son-in-law Gene Walker. Rowena had four children from a previous marriage. Bob is survived by his only daughter Carole (Frank) Hardan; son, Michael (Jennifer) Bunch; son, Peter Bunch; daughter-in-law Bonnie Bunch; his 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren with one great great granchild on the way. Funeral services will take place at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick, Washington on June 2, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation just prior at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
