Billy ?Bill? Ray Dickey Pasco, WA Billy ?Bill? Ray Dickey passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 27, 2006, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born in Madisonville, Texas on February 18, 1940 to Marcus Forrest Dickey and Willie ?Alma? Dickey. Bill was co-owner and co-operator of Services Unlimited, Inc., which he ran with his partner and friend, G.T. McMillion for many years until his retirement. Bill helped organize and was the announcer for the Cavalcade of Bands for the past 24 years. He loved to work with the local high school bands and their instructors each and every year. Bill also loved volunteering his time at the local schools and was fondly referred to as ?Grandpa? by many students. Bill also had a great gift for writing, and upon his diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor, wrote the following poem: ?The Road I Walk? The road I walk is not always straight and true. Many times there are doubts, ?Oh, what should I do?? Then as the road curves toward the end of day, I find a guide upon the way. With arms outstretched he beckons me, ?Continue on, I?m here with thee.? With tear stained eyes I continue on, with the knowledge I?ll never be alone. When hurdles large and stumbling blocks appear, I smile and continue knowing he is near. Trouble and fear assail, but he and I face it well. Friends may come and go and some are just so-so, But not my God. No matter where I may roam, He is there to lead me home. As the rose petals bloom in brilliant array And fall to the ground on an appointed day, I will also face that final time, But as God allows my last breath to flow, Into his wonderful presence I will go. So shed no tears as I leave this place, Just in your heart know I am covered with his grace. Bill is survived by his daughter, Kathi Debevec, and her husband, Robert, of Pasco, WA; granddaughter, Amber Debevec, of Concord, NC; his sister, Patty DoAne, and her husband, Philip, of Spanaway, WA; sister, Barbara Sinclair, of Texas; nieces, Priscilla DoAne, and Penelope McClelland, and her husband, Chris; great-nieces, Athene McClelland and Hayley McClelland; and cousin, Ann Roark, of Texas. We would like to thank the angels of the Tri-Cities Hospice House. There are no words that can express our gratitude for the love and care you showered upon Billy and his family. A celebration of Bill?s life will take place at College View Baptist Church, 2100 W. Agate, Pasco, WA on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services to follow at City View Cemetery just off of Oregon Avenue in Pasco.
