Obituary

Betsy Yule "The Bat" was born October 31, 1947 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Elmon and Mary Bledsoe. On January 7, 2023 she passed away in Kennewick, Washington, her daughter was holding one hand until our Lord took the other hand.

She spent her childhood in West Palm Beach and loved going to the beach and fishing for turtles. She would later meet and marry James Cushing in 1965. Together they had three children, Patrick, James Jr. and Melissa. They lived in several different states but eventually settled in Kennewick, WA in 1978. During her time in England, she had the opportunity to take cooking classes is Dieppe, France. Cooking was one of her passions.

In 1982 she re-married Dale Yule adding Gary and Kristi to the family. They lived between Kennewick and Richland during their 40 years of marriage. Betsy and Dale met at Energy Northwest, where she would work for 30 years and eventually be promoted to a security lieutenant, and retired from in 2009. She was loved by all of her co-workers because of her heart of gold, kindness, honesty and integrity.

Betsy and Dale loved to travel to Wallowa Lake, where they enjoyed their favorite fishing spot. They also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, where they were able to see a variety of shows, play slots, and video poker. They just enjoyed each other's company. Betsy enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, sewing, drawing, and fishing. She also enjoyed when others helped her add to her pig collection.

In 2015 Betsy was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer, but through intense treatment and her tenacious fighting spirit she was able to beat cancer's a$$. Betsy is survived by her husband of 40 years Dale, her children Melissa, James JR, Patrick, Kristi, Gary, and four grandchildren.

Betsy will be deeply missed by all who loved her!

A memorial service will be held at Faith Tri-Cities, 1800 N. Road 72 in Pasco Washington on January 28, 2023 at 1 o'clock. If you would like to send flowers, please contact me for information.

Please, if you can, bring a stuffed Eeyore or Winnie the Pooh. These were her favorite characters. When I am ready I will donate them to the children's wing of the Cancer Clinic.
