Obituary

Barbara (Lowe) Williams was born in Nottingham, England, on May 5th, 1931 to her parents, Jack and Mary Lowe. She passed away peacefully with her family and friends at her side on Friday, December 29th, 2017. Barbara spent her growing up years in England. She attended primary and junior schools and then from age 11 to 18 years old, she attended an all-girls school where she received a thorough education. She then worked in the "Hire Purchase" department of Raleigh Industries, (bicycles) for five years. She met her husband of 64 years, Richard, while he was serving in the United States Air Force in England. They were married in Nottingham, England in 1953 and moved to the U.S. in 1954. Moving to a new country at the age of 22 and not knowing anyone but her husband was a challenge she met with grace and determination. She studied hard and became a U.S. citizen in the years to follow. She worked for the Pasco School District for 26 years in various capacities; the last 11 years of her career as a library clerk at Captain Gray grade school. She retired from the Pasco School District in 1993. She loved sharing her joy of reading with all of the children. She was also a member of the local P.E.O. Chapter and treasured the love and friendship of her P.E.O. sisters. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden, stamping, traveling to Hawaii and the Oregon Coast, raising Siamese cats and hedgehogs and providing a comfortable home for her family and many visitors from near and far. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jack Lowe and Mary Lowe. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Richard Williams of Pasco, WA., her daughter Cathie Frohlich of Spokane, WA., her sons Rick Williams of Pasco, WA., David Williams of West Richland, WA, and Robert Williams (Farhat) of St. Augustine, FL., six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Missy. She is also survived by her brother Richard Lowe (Jenny) of Weston Super-mare, England, two nieces and a grandniece. Memorials may be made to the Benton-Franklin Humane Society or charity of your choice. Mueller Funeral Home is in care of arrangements. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Barbara will be held in the Spring (her favorite time of year). The family would like to thank the staff at Lourdes Medical Center for their compassionate care and understanding.
