Alice Mae Marple passed away August 22, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born on October 4, 1929 to Lila and Harry Garberg in Foxhome, Minnesota. Alice met and married LeRoy Victor Marple in Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1948. In 1953 Alice, LeRoy and their two daughters moved to Kennewick where their son was born. Alice is survived by her children Pamela Clark (Jake) of Ocean Shores, WA, Tricia Marple and Laurence Marple (Candice) who live in the Tri-Cities; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Stanley Marple (Bea), and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was a founding charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kennewick where built she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as an Elder, a Deacon, and a chairperson of the Women's Organization. She was involved in the Campfire Organization as a Horizon Leader; and was a season ticket holder and enthusiastic cowbell ringer for the Americans Hockey team since their founding in 1988. Alice was well-known for her portrayal of Mrs. Santa Claus. A role she proudly and skillfully played at countless Christmas events over the last 40 plus years. Alice moved to the Manor at Brookdale Canyon Lakes in 2013 with her beloved husband who passed shortly after their move. She very much enjoyed being involved with many activities there and remained involved until her last days. Alice took her role in the weekly video production of "This Week at Canyon Lakes" very seriously and thoroughly enjoyed being in front of the camera. Continuing the theme of entertaining all who came across her path, she could often be found getting her steps in by walking the hallways and singing along with her Walkman. A very special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Canyon Lakes for the great care and service they provided to our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother. It is safe to say that Alice made quite an impression with everyone she met. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Services for Alice will include a viewing on Tuesday September 4, 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S Union in Kennewick. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 1:00 pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Choir Memorial or any children's charity of your choosing.
